For the past years, Google has been the biggest force in the world of online marketing. It’s not looking like that’s about to change, so it’s time to hop on the wagon.
But of course, it’s not as easy as just saying ”let’s try this Google thing!” There is a lot of work to be done if you want to be ranked in a good spot on Googles search pages and get the best ad places for your business.
Also, if you didn’t know – Google Adwords has changed into Google Ads.
Keywords
For each page of your website, you need to have a few keywords in mind when crafting the body text. You need it because it’s going to be incorporated in when the index tells Google what the page is about.
For example, if you writing a blog post about shampoo, you might want to incorporate headings with specific qualities and properties of said shampoo, saying it’s for curly hair, straight hair, coloured hair etc.
Content
The content needs to be long, a thousand words is a good guideline. Although, it cannot be page with a thousand words about nothing. It will have to be good text, with good words and content value.
If you think you can fool Google’s crawlers, you can’t. You can’t write lazy texts and complain about your ranking. There are no shortcuts.
If you feel like you can’t do it or need help, then get it. It’ll be worth every penny later.
Advertising
Yes, Google Ads are great if you want people to see your page when they search for something that you sell. But don’t expect Google to show your ads just because you’re paying. No, these ads are based on customer experience, meaning if the ad is deemed appropriate for what the person is searching for, then it’ll show up.
Again, there are no shortcuts. The advertising must have value for the customer. Say what you can provide in a way that they want to hear and you’ll get business.
Google expect a lot from you. And if you want what they’re offering you’re going to have to work for it. To be indexed in a good way, meaning if your website is to be shown, you need to produce a site with appropriate headings and body texts, in- and outbound links, quality texts and images and updates that keep the web page relevant.
